The Pale Horse Prophecy

evelation’s well known image of a rider on a Pale Horse has drawn increased attention in recent years, as believers are recognizing the connection with Islamic militancy. The concluding quarter of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, consisting of the preceding trio of the White Horse, Red Horse, and Black Horse, the Pale Horse Prophecy is legendary:

“And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth” (Revelation 6:8).

Although part of a color coded set, the Pale Horse Prophecy is distinguished from the trio before it by the Holy Spirit’s choice of the word “pale” – as opposed to overt colors such as white, red, or black. However, most know the Greek word chloros (as in chlorophyll or green) anchors the text, so the links to the green crescent of Islam, to say nothing of the globalist inertia pushing a “green” agenda, are becoming well known.

In spite of the green led global warming debacle, which consists of claims and counter-claims riddled with junk science, most can see the tribulational events described in Scripture are destined to create an ecological nightmare -- circumstances which guarantee a planetary wide clamor to save the world.

The fact is, the clash of the cross and the crescent are causative in the devastations being described; and with the world Islamic population hovering right at one fourth of the earth, we may directly connect Islam with the period being described under the aegis of the Pale Horse Prophecy. However, although a superficial read of the text appears to indicate “the fourth part of the earth” will die in this panoramic period, if we look a bit deeper, we’ll see that’s not precisely the case.

When the verse says that power was given to these twin entities “over the fourth part,” the Word of God is actually stating that “fourth part” is the instrument which is utilized to bring about the wholesale destruction seen in the verse. In other words, it is the Islamic quarter of the world which initiates the conflict, and provides the cover for the hidden powers of Death and Hell.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

The Spiritual dimension is always the most important, so we recognize the mystical association with the proper names Death and Hell are uniquely placed within the Pale Horse Prophecy – although it is self evident the two entities are present throughout the age. At the risk of redundancy, and to be certain this is understood, I’ll restate the fact that the turmoil of the Pale Horse period is global and universal (as opposed to only affecting one fourth), with the aggression inaugurated by the Islamic fourth igniting a collision, which will affect everyone and everything.

In America, Christians are becoming more and more alarmed as the chaos has been heretofore limited to what is colloquially known as the tenth parallel – the latitude 700 miles north of the equator. It is in this geographic belt surrounding the world we find half of the world’s Moslems, and 60 percent of the two billion people who profess to be Christians.

Encompassing significant portions of Africa and Asia, most American Christians are completely unaware of how the struggle is unfolding amidst the various cultures, socio-political structures, and economies of dozens of nations. Unfortunately, Western stereotypes are an impediment to an accurate appraisal of the intensity of the conflict between Islam and the churches of the world.

For instance, although the Moslem tenets justify jihad and violence in the cause of Islam, the militant response of many “Christians” is equally appalling. In Nigeria, entire communities lay in ruins due to the violence. In a place called, Yelwa which once hosted a population of 30,000, after Jihadist Moslems attacked and burned yet another church, a local “Christian” militia retaliated. The Human Rights Watch group reported the following:

“660 Muslims were massacred over the course of the next two days, including the patients in the al-Amin clinic. Twelve mosques and 300 houses went up in flames. Young girls were marched to a nearby Christian town and forced to eat pork and drink alcohol. Many were raped, and 50 were killed” (The Tenth Parallel, Eliza Griswold, page 48).

Although the Islamic aggression is the catalyst, as outlined in the Pale Horse Prophecy, there have been many other such incidents which have gone largely unreported in the mainstream media. This is what Satan has in store for America and, as our ministry has repeatedly predicted, the rise of an aberrant form of evangelical militancy is prophesied to overtake us.

Earlier I noted how the Spiritual strongholds dubbed Death and Hell were “given” power over the fourth part – but this does not necessarily indicate they were somehow inactive during the predecessor phases allegorized as the White Horse, Red Horse, and Black Horse. In fact, few note how Jesus Christ Himself stated earlier in Revelation that His singular victory at the cross qualifies Him to have dominion over both factions:

“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death” (Revelation 1:18).

After the Pale Horse phase of the prophetic cycle runs its course, the next stage is directly related to the victory of Christ, in that the martyrs of Jesus appear:

“I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held” (Revelation 6:9).

This description of the dead in Christ immediately following the era of the Pale Horse Prophecy perfectly synchronizes with this identification; however, there is far more going on here than can be discerned through a superficial chronological sequencing.

A key factor is how the False Prophets of Jewish Supremacism, including the Rapture Cult (and every other form of so called “Messianic” doctrine) are teaching that the Jewish people are still “chosen” based on their genetic lineage. Such are increasingly touting the idea the Antichrist is an as yet unseen Islamic figure – another shift away from the truth, for the clash between Christianity and Islam is actually connected to the role of the False Prophet of Revelation 13:

“…and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon” (Revelation 13:11).

If you can hear it, those two horns symbolize the two religious powers seeking to lead the world – the so called “Church” and Islam. As each religion pursues its own dialectically derived version of the “truth,” they come into conflict. Most “believers” are outraged at such an identification, fulfilling Christ’s warning that “many shall be offended” – largely because they perceive such statements as an attack on the Gospel.

However, the Gospel no longer exists in the illusory construct known as the “Church,” as evidenced by the statements in Revelation – which constitute vivid characterizations describing a massive body which once had the truth, but has progressively become devoid of the genuine presence of Jesus Christ:

“…and the voice of the bridegroom [Jesus Christ] and of the bride [of Christ] shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants [read members] were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived” (Revelation 18:23).

Just about every “believer” considers themselves and their own group as exceptions to this statement, but having analyzed end time’s prophecy for decades, it is clear the misidentification of the various entities is part of the Biblically predicted strong delusion, so it is absolutely crucial we accurately perceive the identities involved.

The truth is, the two factions described in the Pale Horse Prophecy, Death and Hell, are symbolically addressed in both beasts of Revelation 13 – the Antichrist beast and the False Prophet beast. For instance, the two horns of the lamblike beast referenced as the False Prophet also represent the twin spirits of Death and Hell – so the fact that “Death” is the “rider” of the Pale Horse does not preclude both entities presence in the False Prophet as well.

Indeed, the twin factions of Death and Hell appear in the Old Testament, where the wicked pair are identified as the driving powers within the earthly city of Jerusalem:

“Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves” (Isaiah 28:14, 15).

This verse is not describing some political treaty made with the Jews by a last day’s leader, it is elaborating on the Spirits which are steering the nations to perdition. The problem which is virtually always encountered in understanding these images is one of discernment, for the Scriptures tell us the “natural man” (those existing apart from the true Gospel) does not understand such things, “neither can he know them” (I Corinthians 2:14). Instead, the massive numbers of the deceived, professing themselves to be saved, reject the truth:

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?” (Matthew 7:22).

The churches of the world are filled with believers in “another gospel”(II Corinthians 11:4) , even as the Islamic mosques feature “another Jesus” (whom the Moslems call Issa) – and both religious bodies are imaged as the “False Prophet” – a collective characterization of all those who seek to lead the way to heaven. As intrinsic rivals, the conflict between the crescent and the cross “causes” the world to follow the emerging globalist order of the Antichrist beast, which leads the way from Jerusalem.

The first “beast” of Revelation 13, the one who received a deadly wound in 70 AD, empowered by the spirits of Death and Hell, has now ascended from the bottomless pit, and is leading the nations into perdition.

However, the true Israel of God is found in the genuine Christians who function as the light of the world. They are now in the Spiritual wilderness, and they are not in “the synagogue of Satan” (Revelation 2:9), even as they are not in the churches, for He commands us to “come out of her my people” (Revelation 18:4).

On a larger layer, physical Israel functions as the Antichrist, inhabited by the Spirit of Death, even as the False Prophet is inhabited by Hell. Those who are in Christ (the opposite of Death, “the way, the truth, and the LIFE”) are the truly regenerated Israel of God (Galatians 6:16).

To be certain this is understood, the LORD’s people are not following their so called “Hebrew Roots,” nor are they “lost tribes,” Messianic Jews, Rapture Cultists, 7th Day Adventists, or Reformed Calvinists. They are not adherents to any organized church, for ALL are part of the great Falling Away.  The true Remnant of Israel are the last generation of Christians, moving in the power of the Holy Spirit, with no geographic or sectarian boundaries.

As the Apostle Paul said to the Jews, the fulfillment of the promises to Israel are found in the body of Christ – born again Israel -- and we are the vessels of the light of the world, through whom the LORD shines to the rest of the nations:

“For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth” (Acts 13:47, Isaiah 42:6).
