The Post Trib Path To Perdition
hirty years ago, as my ongoing study of Scripture brought me to the inescapable conclusion the Pre-Tribulation Rapture doctrine was faulty, I resigned myself to the daunting reality that Christians would endure the tribulation. As the Spirit of the LORD prepared my heart for what I concluded would be His Post-Tribulational return, I began to embrace a more survivalist oriented worldview and, after moving to a rural environ some distance away from the potential chaos of the large population center where I lived in California, I continued to see things from a Post-Tribulationist perspective.
Along the way, I also encountered what most Post-Tribbers find when they first interact with their friends and loved ones still living in the Pre-Tribulational Rapture world – and that was the very real fact that Rapturism involves a Spiritual Stronghold, which is as frustrating as it is baffling. At that stage of my Spiritual development, my off-ramp from the great Rapture ride was found in what could be called simple timing verses in Scripture.
Proof Of No Pre-Trib
These consisted of a multitude of proof texts which clearly showed Christ’s return coincided with the end of the tribulational descriptions; and many of these showed up in my early writings. For instance, the Scripture which said “he cometh with clouds” (Revelation 1:7) had to be Post-Trib, because it was linked to when “all the tribes of the earth mourn” (Matthew 24:3), and these clouds are present in the verses said to be Pre-Trib – when we are “caught up together with them in the clouds“ (I Thessalonians 4:17).
There are dozen of these topical threads, such as the “rewards” verses – where prominent Pretrib professors at seminary illogically taught “left behinders” would not have the same reward as those supposedly caught up – even as others claimed an inferior reward for the martyrs. Further, when Isaiah says “The Lord God will come [and] his reward is with him” (Isaiah 40:10), we find that reward is for “the redeemed of the Lord” (Isaiah 62:12) – who receive their reward when he comes at the 7th trumpet, when “thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints.” These and other verses occur in a Post-Trib setting in Revelation, so a bit of study makes it relatively obvious Christ comes at the very end of days.
Surely the “last day,” when Jesus raises the dead (he says it 4 times in John 6 verses 39, 40, 44, & 54) has to coincide with the time when “the dead in Christ shall rise” (I Thessalonians 4:16) since there is only one resurrection of the just (Luke 14:14).
This “last day” was even referenced by Mary’s sister Martha, as she fretted over the death of her brother Lazarus. Jesus told her that Lazarus would live again, and she said “I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day” (John 11:24). Obviously, Christ did not correct her, and say Lazarus would rise with the other dead at the supposed Pre-Tribulation Rapture, 7 years before the last day.
The “last day” texts were similar to other topical Scriptures, such as the “last trumpet” which blows when the dead in Christ rise (I Corinthians 15:52) – another verse hijacked by the Rapture Cult. When Jesus describes the 2nd coming, which is “immediately after the tribulation of those days” (Matthew 24:29, 31), that “last trumpet” is included in the description – the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Cult’s lame arguments against this obvious truth notwithstanding.
As my Post-Trib understanding grew, I continued to wonder at the resiliency of the aforementioned Spiritual Stronghold of Pre-Trib, as irrefutable verses were irrationally rejected by those who claim to love the truth in Jesus Christ. As stated earlier, most Post-Tribulationists have encountered this, and it is definitely a supernaturally manifested, Spiritual Stronghold. Simultaneously, I repeatedly clashed with other Post-Tribualationists, who had adopted equally untenable positions, such as the “lost tribe” people – claiming themselves as Euro descendants of the Northern tribes – who exhibited a racist antipathy towards Jews that betrayed the fact there was no Holy Spirit inside them.
Communing With The Cults
At the same time, I noticed how many others adopting the Post-Trib view, continued to move seamlessly within Pre and Post-Trib circles, when clearly the Pre-Tribulation Rapture is another Gospel. I began to see a pattern wherein Messianic Jews, independent Anti-New World Order writers with nebulous prophetic perspectives, Sacred Namers, Two House adherents, and maverick Post-Tribulationist believers espousing everything from Planet X to the return of the Nephilim, were able to fellowship together, even though the Scriptures plainly inform us that Christ has no fellowship with false doctrine (II Corinthians 6:15).
Virtually all of these Post-Tribulationists positioned themselves in opposition to mainstream Pre-Trib, and I realized that many novices just coming out of the Rapture Cult, saw each of these within the wider rubric of Post-Tribulationist Christianity – endowing this motley crew with a legitimacy which is scripturally unwarranted.
Indeed, over the years I consistently observed the same type of unscriptural misbehavior in the Post-Tribulationists which had witnessed to the fact the Rapture Cultists were on the wrong path. Obviously, Christ’s powerful admonition that a tree is known by its fruits is an important characteristic in spiritual discernment. Ultimately, I realized the common denominator in every one of the rapidly expanding tier of Post-Tribulationism, is the fundamental error that they still see Israel as the chosen people based on flesh and blood:
“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God: neither doth corruption inherit incorruption” (I Corinthians 15:5).
This means that there is another entire strata of deception positioned within the ranks of those who are willing to break with the false tradition of Pre-Trib. In essence, most of the Post-Tribulationists have simply pushed their “Rapture” of the “Church” deeper and deeper into the tribulation – not realizing the primary error of the Rapture Cult actually has very little to do with timing – and everything to do with the believer’s true identity.
Salvation Is Of The Spiritual Jews
The enormous problem with every worldview described in the present work (including Pre and Post-Tribulationists) is a rudimentary misunderstanding of the Gospel itself. Jesus Christ repeatedly stated He came to save Israel – even as other verses state God loved the entire world enough to send His Son to redeem all who will respond to His call:
“I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel…the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world” (I John 4:14).
When we say that “Israel” rejected Christ, but those who did respond became members of the so called “Church” (a word associated with a generic group of people), we make Christ’s efforts to save Israel either a failure, or at the very least, an unfulfilled promise. The truth is, as Zecharias the father of John the Baptist proclaimed, Christ redeemed Israel in every way He promised:
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people” (Luke 1:68).
As Jesus prayed the Father, looking throughout eternity, He flatly stated He had completed the work He was given, and had lost none of those the Father gave Him:
“That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none” (John 18:9).
There is no “Church” apart from Israel, and there never was. There is no “Israel” apart from Christ, and there never was.
After the cross, there is no physical Jew, and there is no physical Gentile – as EVERYTHING is delineated on a Spiritual plane. There are now Spiritual Jews (the same thing as a Spiritual Israelite), and there are Spiritual Gentiles – thus, all who are truly in Christ, who stand completely in Him, with no reliance upon relationships based on flesh and blood, are the “All Israel” which is saved (Romans 11:26).
Those who claim the Jews are chosen in their flesh (whether they see themselves as members of the “Church,” or whether they profess themselves to be “Jews”) manifest the Spirit of Antichrist, for the Scriptures repeatedly show that God prophesied He was going to translate Israel into a Spiritual house (I Peter 2:5).
So called “Hebrew Roots” believers universally claim the Jews are chosen regardless of their belief (or lack thereof) in Christ – an abomination of the first magnitude. Every Rapturist (regardless of Pre-Trib or Post-Trib orientation) separates Israel from the fictional “Church” – so they are all preaching another Gospel.
When Jesus told the Disciples” I have chosen you” (John 15:19) He defined being “chosen” as one who is Spiritually regenerated in Him – regardless of their physical lineage. Thus, the Post-Tribulationists are teaching the same apostasy as the Pre-Tribulationists when they profess Israel is still chosen on a physical basis – but God is not mocked, for He has revealed the truth to those He has chosen:
“But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the LORD, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth” (II Thessalonians 2:3).
Ironically, the same Spiritural Stronghold which has been repeatedly detected in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Cult also exists in the Post-Tribulationists who fail to hear the voice of the LORD in this matter – and it is directly related to the Strong Delusion which everyone has heard so much about.
“But ye brethren are not in darkness…Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness…For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God” (I Thessalonians 5:4,5; Galatians 6:16).
